Hi, how lovely to see you participating in the Color Obstacle Rush!

Note that this email was sent automatically to everyone, so if you have already filled out the transfer form you might still receive this participant info email.

Please read this document very carefully. It contains important information about how to prepare and what to expect from our Color Obstacle Rush this year. Don’t forget to share it with your team!

We have a lot of experience in organizing safe events, and we are grateful for your trust in our ability to provide fun for you in the safest possible environment. Together we will make this day into an amazing, colorful experience!

The event experience may be a little different this year, due to the government’s current guidelines. We have introduced some changes to make sure the event progresses as smoothly and securely as possible in these difficult times. The most important updates concern Covid-19 preventive measures and preparation for the run. All of those changes have been created for your own, and our staff’s, safety, and we ask you to follow our Covid-related signage as well as the directions coming from the event staff. We promise that even with stricter measures implemented, all our participants will have all the fun in the world!

We trust that you take extra precautions days before the event and undergo a self-assessment for any sudden changes. You shouldn’t attend the event if you or someone in your household has had any Covid symptoms in the past 14 days before the event:

 • A high temperature (over 38,0C)

 • A new, continuous cough

 • A loss of, or change to, sense of smell or taste.

Extra note!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact our customer service.
You can contact us on Facebook messenger or leave us a message via live chat on our website.

Ticket sales for the event have ended!

Every transfer request sent before the event date will be processed. When you have successfully sent the form, your request has surely reached us.

Please note that due to a large number of messages our answer time is longer than expected. We guarantee that this doesn’t affect ticket transfers. Thank you for your patience!

Please ensure that you remember to bring with you a valid photographic ID, a valid
order confirmation, Covid Safe Ticket, and confirmation of filled terms & conditions form.

1. Arrival and pre check-in

We at the Color Obstacle Rush want to pay extra attention to your safety at our
event. This year exceptionally we are kindly asking our participants not to arrive any earlier than their given start time.

When you arrive at the parking lot, please follow the signage and the directions given by our staff.

As soon as you arrive at the event, we will require you to show us the Covid Safe Ticket along with your ID and confirmation of the filled terms & conditions form. You can find the form here.

The terms and conditions form must be filled up by each participant individually (and bring the email proof). In order to allow you to participate in the event, we need to check that your ID matches the name on your Covid Safe Ticket.

It is okay if participants aged under 16 years on the date of the event don’t have a valid ID, as long as their parent, legal guardian, or a responsible adult who accompanies the participant has one.

Please ensure that you remember to bring with you a valid photographic ID, a valid
order confirmation, Covid Safe Ticket, and confirmation of filled terms & conditions form.

Please note that you don’t have to print your order confirmation or email confirmation of the completed T&C form, you can also show them from your phone.

Please note that we may not be able to answer any questions during the event weekend.

2. Check-in

At the check-in, you will be asked to show us your ticket or order confirmation. We will need the order confirmation.

To speed up the check-in, please prepare your ticket or order confirmation in advance.

You will receive your T-shirt and wristband as well as any possible additional items.
We do not ask about your T-shirt size upon ticket purchase. We kindly ask you to decide in advance which T-shirt you would like to receive at the check-in (they are standard unisex, range S-XL). If you feel you are somewhere between two sizes, take the larger one: it will be more comfortable! Unfortunately, as a safety measure, we do not allow exchanges.

After the check-in, you will also have an opportunity to buy some merchandise at our store. Please note that we accept contactless payment. Remember that there will be one-way at the event, which means you will not have access to the check-in area and the store once you have passed them.

And one more thing: you’ll receive your personal medal and color packet as soon as you cross the finish line!

3. Warm-up

Before every start group, there will be a warm-up to get you prepared for the run. Like everything at Color Obstacle Rush, the warm-up is about having fun, too! Get ready to dance and stretch with us!

The event is separated into start groups of approximately 300 participants slot. It will take 20 to 30 minutes for the whole start slot to go through the gate so please be patient (the start is done this way to avoid queues on the course). Please follow the instructions by the announcer and the starter as they guide you to the start gate.

Remember that the event is not a competition and the most important thing is to have fun! So if you prefer not to run then jogging or walking around the course are perfectly acceptable. Please be considerate to the faster runners and leave room for them to pass and vice versa. Peace, love, understanding and sweet harmony to every rusher regardless of their running pace!

4. How to get to the event?

The event will take place at the Sport Vlaanderen Hofstade
Tervuursesteenweg z/n
1981Hofstade
Belgium

BY ROAD

You can access the area by car and leave your car in parking areas D or E. (You will find a map at the end of the letter 15. Parking space).

Please note:
Entrance D: 10min. walk to the festival area
Entrance E: 15min. walk to the festival area.

BY BUS

If you arrive by bus we recommend you check specific timetables here.

5. Where to keep your stuff?

You will be able to leave clothing in our controlled cloakroom. The cloakroom will cost 2 € per participant and you will also be charged 1 € for each visit (apart from when you pick up your belongings to leave of course). Please note that we take payments by cash or card.

Each participant will be able to leave one bag in the cloakroom. As cloakroom space is limited, we will not accept any bags that are bigger than a regular size rucksack, can’t be hung or weigh more than 5 kg. Permitted items are a jacket or a regular size rucksack (large items such as duffel bags are not allowed).

We also strongly recommend you to leave any valuable items at home. Color Obstacle Rush will accept no liability for any items that are lost and/or damaged whilst in the cloakroom.

We recommend that you use an appropriate armband with your mobile phone if you want to have it on the course with you. You may also want to put your mobile phone to a clear zipped bag in order to help to protect it from the colour, water splashes and foam that forms part of the event. You will not be allowed to carry any bags or rucksacks when participating in the event.

6. Obstacles and color

It might take a few minutes before you can hit the obstacles so please be patient. Please follow the instructions given by the staff and the starter as they guide you to the start gate.
Please note that a face covering is recommended at the obstacles but not on the track.

There will be approximately 20 different obstacles along the route, which is around 5 kilometers long. Please note that we reserve the right to make changes to the number and range of the obstacles: depending on the venue, terrain, weather, and other circumstances we might not be able to use all of our obstacles at every Color Obstacle Rush event.

The obstacles are quite easy and fun but you will need to be careful and also pay attention to other runners. If you feel that an obstacle looks too challenging, you can always pass around it if you prefer. Please don’t stop at any of the obstacles to wait for your friends, take photos (or for a nap). This will interfere with the flow of the course and cause congestion and queues at the obstacles.

It takes approximately 45–90 minutes to complete the course. Remember that the event is not a competition and the most important thing is to have fun – if you prefer not to run, jogging or walking around the course are also perfectly acceptable! Please be considerate to the faster runners and leave room for them to pass and vice versa. Peace, love, understanding, and sweet harmony to everyone regardless of their running pace!

There are 6 coloring points on the route. The color is 100 % natural corn starch that’s been dyed with food/cosmetic colors. The powder is specifically manufactured for these kinds of events. We use only fire retardant color powder in all of the Color Obstacle Rush events. However, it may cause allergic reactions to those allergic to dust and may also cause asthma attacks.

Some inflatable obstacles may get hot in the sun. It’s not a bad idea to wear leggings etc. to make the experience more comfortable!

You should wear sunglasses at each color point.

7. Can I participate if I am pregnant or I have some health issues?

If you are pregnant or have any issues with your health we recommend you consult your
doctor before entering the Color Obstacle Rush. Although our mission is to make the race as safe as possible for every participant, there is always the possibility of unforeseeable incidents (such as falling or bumping into another person).

8. Finish and Colour Festivals

To ensure a safer environment, the color festivals will be held for smaller groups in a separated area at the end of the course. Have fun and don’t forget your medal at the finish line! We kindly ask you to not drop on the ground anything else than the color powder!
Please do not linger after the event. All participants will be asked to move forward after the color festival. We understand that you may want to wait for your friends or just relax and contemplate your achievement but sadly, we have to ask you to go directly to your car so we can avoid a crowd forming at the finish line.

9. Photos and social media

Our photographer will come to capture your fun among the obstacles. All the photos will be posted on our Facebook page a week after the event.

If you share your own beautiful pictures on social media, please use the hashtag #colorobstaclerush and tag us, so we can find them, too! 🙂 And to get some extra color in your life, please follow us on:

10. Audience

Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we can allow NO audience to the event. We ask any family members, friends, and cheerleaders of the participants to kindly wait in the car
park area.

11. Food, drink, merchandise

There will be two water stations located in the event area. You can also bring your own drinks (as long as the bottles are not made of glass) but please note that it may be quite hard to tackle some of the obstacles with a water bottle in your hand!

Sunglasses, bandanas, sweatbands, extra color bags, face paint, tattoos, silicone bracelets, gym sacks, etc will be on sale at the festival area.

Please note that it will not be possible to return to the store after having passed it at the beginning of the event. Plan your shopping wisely!

12. Alcohol and smoking

Please note that alcohol is not permitted at the event. Smoking is also forbidden.

13. What if I can’t participate?

Sorry to hear that! If you can’t attend the event, you can transfer your participation to another Color Obstacle Rush event next year, 2022 by filling out this form. Please note there is a transfer fee of 10€ / per ticket.

You can also give your ticket to someone else to participate in your place. To adjust the ticket information, kindly log in on our website to your account. If you are not the account holder, the person who made the booking can make these changes for you.

To transfer your registration to another person, just change the ticket information for the participant in the profile. Remember to save the changes and download the ticket for the new participant!

The entry fee is non-refundable.
